Overview
This 90-minute class is designed to address some of the self-sabotaging thinking habits that interfere with performing at our own potential. We will discuss the power of mindset for musicians and procrastination - its causes and solutions. During the class, students will participate in live online discussions with mentor teacher, Dr. Patricia Surman.
This class is appropriate for students with two or more years of study on any musical instrument.
Requirements
Students will need access to a computer and webcam.
About the Instructor
Yamaha Performing Artist and Fulbright Scholar Dr. Patricia Surman is the Assistant Professor of Flute and Director of Woodwind Studies at MSU Denver. A twenty-first-century musician, Patricia has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in North and South America, Asia and Europe. A passionate and dedicated teacher, Patricia is committed to guiding her students through the process of discovering how to cultivate their own innate musical gifts with the flute. Patricia's students have won competitions and developed successful careers in a wide variety of fields within music.
