Yamaha Performing Artist and Fulbright Scholar Dr. Patricia Surman is the Professor of Flute and Director of Woodwind Studies at MSU Denver. A twenty-first-century musician, Patricia has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in North and South America, Asia and Europe. A passionate and dedicated teacher, Patricia is committed to guiding her students through the process of discovering how to cultivate their own innate musical gifts with the flute.
Private Study: I am available for private lessons in Denver and Boulder, CO. I can schedule 45-minute or 60-minute weekly lessons, or private lessons on an as-needed basis. Please contact me for more information about scheduling and fees. I am also available for lessons during the NFA Convention or while on tour. Pre-College and Post-Graduate Study: This lesson track is toward students who wish to pursue a college degree in music or are preparing for graduate school/orchestral auditions. This study track includes weekly hour lessons, attendance and participation in technique class, and mock auditions. Additional focus will be placed on competitions and preparation for performances. Online Lessons: If you cannot travel to the Denver area for lessons, I am available for online lessons via Skype or FaceTime.
